Veloce Publishing's mission

Named after the faster Alfa-Romeo models, and with a passing nod to the

manufacturer of Velocette motorcycles, Veloce has a simple philosophy. It is

our mission to provide books of the highest quality in terms of content,

accuracy, presentation, subject range and reader satisfaction to discerning

automotive enthusiasts around the world.

Our books may not be the cheapest, but to adapt a famous Rolls-Royce slogan

'the quality remains long after the price is forgotten ...' We aim to cover

all aspects of the automotive world from an international perspective,

including history, biography, reference, motorsport, repair, maintenance,

car building and restoration, and we're not afraid to publish minority

interest books that we think will find a big enough audience to make them

viable.

History of Veloce

Rod Grainger and Judith Brooks - who between them have over fifty years'

publishing experience in the automotive field - founded Veloce in September

1991. Rod is a member of the Guild of Motoring Writers and has written a

number of automotive books.

Originally the company was based in two spare rooms of Rod and Judith's barn

conversion home in the small Dorset village of Godmanstone. Today the

company has offices in Dorchester - Dorset's county town and the

'Casterbridge' of Thomas Hardy's famous novels.

Veloce specialises in fine automotive books of all types, ranging from

practical do-it-yourself guides to leather bound limited editions. Our

philosophy is that every one of our books will be of the highest quality in

terms of content and presentation, as well as being of true value to the

purchaser.

We will always be pleased to hear your ideas for new automotive books and

any comments you may have regarding our existing books. Happy motoring or

motorcycling!
